Accessibility services for places, products, and people.
We offer tactile map and digital accessibility services that combine technical review with lived experience.
The goal is simple: help organisations understand barriers and make practical improvements that people can actually use.
What working with Tactile looks like
Most engagements start with a short scoping conversation so we can understand the problem, the context, and what success looks like.
From there we agree the scope, timeline, and deliverables before work begins.
For a typical assessment, clients can expect a written findings report with prioritised recommendations within a clear turnaround window. For map projects, clients can expect design input, implementation support, and testing before sign-off.
Most standard assessments include a written findings report within 10 working days. If the project is larger or more complex, we agree the timeline up front so you know what to expect before work begins.
Most engagements are quoted based on scope, complexity, and turnaround. If you want to understand what level of support fits your project, we can talk through the options before anything is agreed.
Tactile map design, implementation, and testing
We help organisations create tactile orientation maps for buildings and public spaces. That includes map design, implementation support, and testing to check that the finished map is genuinely usable for blind and low vision visitors.
We do not provide full expert assessments of general physical accessibility across buildings or premises.
WCAG audits, keyboard testing, and screen reader testing
We test websites, web applications, forms, menus, dialogs, and other interactive elements for accessibility barriers.
Our review can include WCAG assessment, keyboard testing, screen reader testing, and user-centred evaluation from a blind user’s perspective.
Questions clients usually ask
Can you test for other access needs besides blind and low vision users?
Yes, many accessibility improvements help more than one group, including people with temporary or situational needs. But Tactile’s testing and lived experience are centred on blind and low vision use.
Do you assess general physical accessibility of spaces?
No. Tactile does not position itself as a general physical accessibility auditing practice. Our physical offer is specifically about tactile maps and orientation support.
What do you deliver on a standard assessment?
A short scoping conversation, an agreed timeline, a written findings report with prioritised recommendations, and follow-up support if needed.
Fix issues with your developers
We do not stop at findings. We explain what the issue is, why it matters, how it affects people, and what a better implementation looks like.
We can do screen sharing sessions with your developers and pair-program with them to fix issues. We don’t need access to your environments or code. We can simply share screens and add instant value to your dev team. Bryn on our team is an experienced full-stack developer.
We can also retest fixes once your team has made changes ensuring any issues we find are sorted.
Accessibility training and workshops
We help teams build accessibility knowledge in plain language. That includes developers, designers, content authors, and organisations that want practical guidance rather than theory alone.
Web Design & Development
We can offer full web design and development with our web developer Bryn. He is a qualified designer and senior level experienced developer. If you are looking for a highly accessible website from the ground up we can help.
